The Extreme XL American Bully has its roots in early American Bully experiments of the 1990s. Breeders first crossed American Pitbull Terrier and American Staffordshire Terrier. The XL class took shape when breeders aimed for a taller dog with strong bone. The Extreme class focused on a compact heavy build and large head. Both UKC and ABKC now host shows for Extreme XL dogs. Today the Extreme XL American Bully combines the extreme head and muscle with extra height and a solid gait.
